I was born in the USSR and have been residing for about 25 years in the United States of America and I consider myself a bilingual individual. I am a US citizen; I speak fluent French and Russian. Thus I feel qualified as the one who can provide the very highest levels of translational precision and professional acumen, along with a natural affinity for other cultures. A translator’s work, as you know, requires that one quickly absorbs concepts, facts and data, so that all this information can be presented to the target audience with optimal clarity and organization. In other words, things must become second nature, as if the information has originated through direct experience with the subject. Additionally, one must have considerable fluency in terms of translation technique; otherwise, one omission or error will generate similar occurrences.
